The Agadir Desert Tour begins in Agadir, a beautiful city that offers many things for visitors including great beaches and colourful souks (markets). As you leave Agadir city limits, you will notice that the geographical environment changes dramatically from an urban city landscape to rolling hills, lush valleys, and picturesque Berber villages representing all of the amazing cultural diversity that exists in Morocco.
The first stop is at the Timlalin Dunes. The endless golden sandy dunes stretch for miles and miles meeting up with the perfectly blue skies (what else could someone ask for?). You can run or walk on the dunes, take pictures of the scenery or, if you’re feeling brave, participate in sandboarding or dune bashing. Lunch will be traditional Moroccan food served as a picnic with tagines and couscous. You can also learn about the cultural importance of the dunes by attending local festivals, live music performances, dances, and other cultural events that showcase Morocco’s heritage. To end your day, view the sunset over the dunes then camp overnight at a Berber-style camp.
Your second day begins with an early morning sunrise hike, followed by breakfast at the Berber camp. There are also many optional activities that allow you to interact with and learn from the locals in order to gain a better understanding of their desert way of life before travelling back to Agadir City. What a fantastic experience this type of trip offers: adventure, cultural, and outdoor experiences all in one.
