You’ll experience the sights and sounds of lively cities to small ancient villages, as well as, the charms and magic of the Sahara Desert. This journey will empower women traveling alone, all the while connecting you to other women with similar interests for an amazing travel experience. So pack your bags and get ready for an unforgettable adventure!

Welcome to Morocco! After landing at Marrakech Menara Airport, you will meet your tour guide and be transferred to your lovely riad located in the centre of the city. After you’ve settled in, you will enjoy a welcome dinner with your fellow travelers at a customary Moroccan restaurant. This is a great time to get to know each other and talk about your upcoming adventure.

Kick off your day with a walking tour of Marrakech, the “Red City,” where you will see sites of interest, including the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and Saadian Tombs. After that take time to walk through the souks of the Medina to shop for unique handicrafts, spices, and textiles. In the afternoon visit a local women’s cooperative to learn about Moroccan handicrafts and support female artisans. Finally, finish your day with a relaxing hammam experience!

Enjoy a scenic drive to the Atlas Mountains. Stop by beautiful Berber villages to meet local women, who will tell you about their stories and traditions. Enjoy a traditional Berber lunch in a family home with a view of the mountains. In the afternoon, hike through beautiful valleys where we will visit an argan oil cooperative run by local women. Return to Marrakech in the evening.

Drive across the Tizi n’Tichka Pass allowing you to traverse the High Atlas Mountain to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its outstanding kasbahs. With your guide, visit this ancient fortified village and learn its history. Leave and drive to Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco. Tour the film studios and learn about the many films that have been filmed in this region. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Travel to the Sahara Desert, while making stops at interesting points of interest such as Skoura Oasis and Todra Gorge along the way. You will arrive in Merzouga before sunset and prepare for what you will always remember: a desert excursion. You will ride camels into the endless golden dunes of Erg Chebbi as the sun sets behind the Sahara. That night you will spend the evening at a Berber desert camp under the stars, listening to music and stories around a fire.

You’ll need a very early wake up call to see the beauty of the sunrise over the dunes before riding our camels back to Merzouga. Following breakfast, we will begin our return journey to Marrakech – with stops to see the views and picture opportunities on the way! We should arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon. Then you’ll have a chance to do some last minute shopping before getting together one last time for a farewell dinner with your new friends to celebrate a wonderful journey you have shared!

Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some additional time on your departure day for more sightseeing or relaxing. Your guide will assist with airport transfers, as required.

FAQ

here’s the low-down. Morocco is pretty safe for solo women, especially if you stay in tourist areas. You don’t need to be dangerous, but dress a bit conservatively and be aware of what’s going on around you. People are not crazy sexist over there (although yes, you will get catcalled). I never felt that I was in danger like legit danger. Just have your head on as the same would in any city.

Easy, don’t over-pack like , You want to bring thin, breathable shirts for the sweaty afternoons but you want a jacket/hoodie because nights can get very chilly. Hiking boots are mandatory . Sunscreen and a hat (and water bottle, ) are also great to have. also bring a small first aid kit ( get clumsy sometimes), a power bank, and basic toiletries.

The Atlas Mountains are a whole thing. The Toubkal National Park is a classic, and then there is Ait Bouguemez Valley which is beautiful, feels a bit like a fairy tale

Dress modestly, covering your shoulders and knees. Interact politely with locals and make an attempt to remember a few expressions in Arabic or French to display your respect and interest in their culture.

The best times are in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). The weather is milder and dose not compete for your outdoor activities.

Lots of hikes are fine for solo hikers, however, hiking with a group increases enjoyment by having fellow hikers to share your hiking experience and provide local knowledge. Plus it’s safer in remote areas with unfamiliar navigation.

You will experience various landscapes from mountains to deserts, meet Berber communities, eat traditional Moroccan food, and enjoy the amazing culture of this beautiful North African country.

Start doing cardio such as walking or jogging regularly to build endurance. Also add strength training to your regime, especially leg strength and core strength to cope with uneven terrain.
